How to clean a flower vase?

When the flowers are in the vase, the water grow microorganisms. They are harmful to the flowers and the stems. Organic material originating from decaying stems and microorganisms settle inside the vase. This can be seen when the water level is lowered in the vase, and the precipitate on the walls dries out.
